What should I expect during my first visit?

FAQs: 

  • During your first visit, please arrive at your appointment 20 minutes early to complete your paperwork. You will be seen for the initial evaluation (45 to 60 minutes) consisting of review of system, medical interview, physical examination, and trial treatment to develop/discuss a treatment plan.

What should I expect during following visits?

  • During subsequent visits, physical therapist will implement individualized treatment plan by prioritizing areas and selection of treatment options (type of services) to improve your main problem(s). Treatment plan will continue to be modified and progressed as you make progress. Physical Therapist instructs customized self-coping activities (therapeutic exercises, activity pacing, relaxation, and related reading materials) at each visit to provide self-control over your condition. Each visit will last approximately 45 minutes with one-on-one interaction with a Physical Therapist.

What do I need to bring with me?

  • Lab testing or Imaging results

  • Government issued identification (i.e. driver’s license, military ID, passport).

  • Insurance card

  • Physician’s referral (Some insurance carriers require Primary Physician’s referral; You can also download our referral script. Click here). Please check with your insurance company.

  • If your case is related to Worker’s Compensation, bring your claim number and Case Manager’s contact information

  • If your case is covered by auto insurance or an attorney lien, make sure you bring documentation (PIP) and attorney’s contact information.

Does my insurance cover Physical Therapy sessions?

​

  • Physical therapy services are covered by most health insurance program. We verify your physical therapy benefits with insurance company.

  • We are currently participating in-network with Medicare, CareFirst (BCBS, Bluechoice), and Aetna. For clients with out-of-network benefits, most of PPO will pay a portion of treatment cost. We will assist you in submitting a billing information to your insurance company.

  • If you do not have physical therapy benefit from insurance, we can discuss the payment plan prior to your first visit.

  • Your copay/deductible is due at the time of your visit. We accept the following payment types: Visa, MasterCard, cash, check, and money order. You are responsible for any portion not covered by your insurance prior to your next visit.

How should I dress?

  • Please wear loose fitting clothing (t-shirt, a tank top, shorts, sweats, or exercise shoes) so you can expose the area that we will be evaluating and treating.

In & Out-of-network Insurances/ Injury Claims:

We are currently participating in-network with Medicare, CareFirst (BCBS, Bluechoice), and Aetna. We also work with out-of-network insurances.
